Marking a most significant 40th anniversary
Now at age 63, I realize and fully appreciate that (like many my age) my adult lifetime has seen great advances (and huge expenditures) to fight the battle against cancer. || http://bit.ly/tlDrN2 What I did not realize 40 years ago near the start of my adult life was that I would personally benefit by the success of the medical community in waging this fight. I am a survivor of mantle cell lymphoma since 2006 and received a cutting-edge stem-cell transplant from an unrelated donor in 2007 as well as an advanced form of radiation (TomoTherapy) in 2009 to successfully bring remission, not once, but twice from the disease.
