1/15/2007: How Do You Want to be Remembered?

On September 11, 2001, United Flight 93 taxied down the runway and lifted off for nonstop service to San Francisco. The rest is history. Click here for the full story.

Pastor Dave Burns at Hillside Community Church has been sharing a series of messages on THE LORD'S PRAYER. This weekend, he provided an introduction to his sermon, showing ariveting video clip from the FLIGHT 93 movie.

The scene: Todd Beamer asks Lisa Jefferson, a Verizon Wireless supervisor, to recite the Lord's Prayer with him before his fatal attempt with other passengers to sieze control of the plane from the hijackers. [SEE VIDEO CLIP HERE]

There is nothing that can be added to this story that the video does not tell. Likewise, there is probably nothing we can add to the Lord's Prayer that can improve our link with the Father, who taught us to pray ...

"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." -- Luke 18:1

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" -- Matthew 7:7-11
