▶ First day of the winter solstice arrived yesterday and that generally means no real change in the weather conditions for Southern California, but we have finally had a few days of partly-cloudy rain to initiate the official changing of the seasons Unfortunately and personally, the last few months have been mostly marked with prolonged and unrelenting respiratory distress, officially diagnosed last Friday as acute bronchitis.

▶ A new cocktail of medicines have been prescribed: 1) Ibratropium Bromide nasal spray; 2) Prednisone, a steroid; and 3) Benzonatate, a cough suppressant.  All of this followed my third IVIG in three months since September at City of Hope, as that last procedure generally lasts me for six months, but not at this time.  Immune system issues remain and underlying challenge in my ninth year post DX with mantle cell lymphoma and eight years post the allogeneic stem cell transplant to send and keep my cancer in remission.
▶ TWITTER moments (like the one below) and social media content today archive the periodic updates about my cancer recovery from mantle cell lymphoma (MCL)▶  Within these links and the #SocialCurrentSee on topic, I often share specifics and sometimes trivial matters about my continued remission from the disease▶ As of this posting, my condition is basically unchanged: Remain in complete remission for MCL (DX April 2006 and also SCT in Aug 2007 with a minor relapse in late 2009 that was treated with tomotherapy, all at City of Hope, Duarte, with Dr. Ryotaro Nakamura as my primary oncologist▶ Have had ONLY frequent IVIGs for maintenance since the SCT and the frequency of these has become more rapid as I have had a long siege of respiratory distress this fall and winter▶ Not sure why this condition persists except caused (in part) by diminished immune conditions that may be linked to several rounds of Rituximab during the later stages of my treatment▶

ALTACITIES® by social media archivist ALTALOMAN® is a web moniker for content created and archived in the 'social current see' (SCS) for and about the subject of COMMON INTEREST DEVELOPMENTS, the residential communities of some 68 million people in the USA.

ALTACITIES®, an acronym for "ALTERNATE CITIES", is the web moniker for the neighborhood of sites, blogs and locations created and managed by ALTALOMAN, in reference to our journals and blogging activity when Dee Dee and I were residents of Alta Loma, part of Rancho Cucamonga in Southern California. Of course, we have moved on but these ALTACITIES® remain.
