150 Days Post SCT!

"This one step - choosing a goal and staying to it - changes everything." - Scott Reed

Now that our visits to City of Hope occur every two weeks, as a rule, and that progress of recovery is without unexpected events or consequences, I have chosen to write infrequent entries in MyJournal. However, since today is another milestone at 150 days post transplant, I am compelled to include an entry.

Yes, we are almost back to normal, whatever that may be. Nighttime sleep is still frequently interrupted, so short afternoon naps are required most days. But even this minor inconvenience seems like a petty complaint, given what could have been. I don't know where my recovery from MCL and the stem-cell transplant of August 22, 2007 ranks on the scale of success in the medical community, but as far as I am concerned, this is miraculous and "as good as it gets!" Gratitude and thankfulness abound.

Although we are making more frequent trips out of the house and that I have been given permission to restart part-time work at the end of February, one of my pastimes is to continue blogging and research lymphoma and cancer-related topics. I most enjoy finding other blogs and Internet entries from cancer survivors. One of the most inspirational sites for such information is found here: Cancer Survivors - Celebrating Life.

If you haven't done so already, please enter your e-mail address in the registry box found in the right-hand sidebar of this page (scroll down) to receive automatic notice of updates to MyJournal. Also, check out these other blogs, starting with PQ: The People Quotient.
